The Family Behind The Amelia
We’re Matt & Laura, a husband-and-wife duo who love creating welcoming spaces where guests feel at home. We started this short-term rental because hospitality is our passion, and we take pride in offering a personalized experience that you won’t find with big commercial operations.
When we’re not hosting, you’ll find us exploring the mountains, hiking scenic trails, and enjoying anything outdoors. We love visiting local wineries and breweries, spending time with friends and family, and doing our best to keep up with our two energetic kiddos!

- Bath amenities provided (No grab bars in the tub/shower)
Outdoor Space
- Private screened-in porch with seating and a ceiling fan
- Relaxing atmosphere with frequent wildlife sightings (cottontail rabbits, deer, Barred owls & Cooper's hawks)
- The backyard is not yet renovated, but it is mowed and available for use if needed
A Few Things to Note
- There is a locked, soundproofed door in the hallway between the two sides of the duplex for both your privacy and ours
- While we took extra steps during renovations to limit noise transfer, you may occasionally hear our two little ones before and after school—we do our best to keep things quiet!
- My wife, our two children, and I live on the other side, and you'll likely see us coming and going as we keep up with our busy little family. We’re always happy to help however we can!

We had an excellent stay at The Amelia! We came up for the weekend with our toddler and this was a perfect family-friendly spot for us. The house was super clean, cozy, and felt like a home away from home. Matt was super helpful and responsive; we will definitely stay here again in the future!
Matt's place is top notch! The duplex is in a beautiful walkable historic neighborhood. We had fun walking around and looking at all of the cute houses. This would be a great place for a family or people with a dog. Also, the house is as neat as a pin!! I was so impressed by how tidy and nice everything was. Matt was also super kind and responsive. The kitchen was well equipped if you did want to cook at home. We would book Matt's Airbnb again without hesitation 🙂
Excellent location and property. Walkable to Freedom park and the Dilworth neighborhood. Had a great experience and pleasant stay, would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others. Only downside was an uncomfortable bed, but that is just a personal preference. Great overall and made for a great long weekend trip!
Matt and Laura’s place was exactly as described, and we appreciated the thoughtful extras like paper towels, dish soap, coffee, and games for the kids—making our short three-day weekend so much easier. Everything was clean and well-stocked, with attention to detail that made us feel right at home. Highly recommend staying here!
